Rent Reporting is a financial wellness amenity that reports residents' on-time rent payments to the major credit bureaus each month helping them build credit history just by paying rent. It also includes access to a free budgeting tool, real-time credit monitoring, a $1 million ID theft protection policy, and recovery and restoration services. All of it is managed through the Homebody app at homebody.rentplus.com.

Residents can enroll through the Homebody app or portal at homebody.rentplus.com. Depending on how your property is set up, residents may be auto-enrolled via the lease addendum and prompted to activate via a welcome email, or they may enroll manually on their own. Either way, residents can opt out at any time by visiting the portal or emailing rentreporting@homebody.com.

Yes — and this is one of the most compelling selling points. Homebody will automatically back-report up to 24 months of prior on-time payments at no additional cost, as long as the payment history exists in the property management system and the resident has been in the same unit. That means residents who enroll today don't start from zero.

No. Rent Reporting only reports on-time payments it never negatively reports a late payment. This is intentional. The product is designed around positive reinforcement, not penalization, which makes it an easy conversation to have with residents who might be hesitant.

Reporting stops when the resident leaves. There's no ongoing obligation on the property's side, and the resident's existing reported history remains on their credit report — they just won't receive new entries after their lease ends.

No meaningful lift. The service runs through native integrations with your property management system, so there's no manual data entry or reporting for your team to manage. Residents self-serve through the Homebody portal, and all support questions go directly to Homebody not your leasing office.

They can cancel at any time by visiting homebody.rentplus.com or emailing rentreporting@homebody.com. The cancellation process is self-serve and doesn't require the property team to get involved. Credit history that was already reported stays on their record canceling doesn't erase past reporting.
